Introduction: DAZL! Family
The DAZL! Family consists of ICs, designed for LCD TV backlight
units based on either High-Power or Low-Power LEDs
The DAZL! architecture is designed to support a full set of
advanced features including scanning backlight (D1), zone
dimming (D2) and zone dimming with color control per zone
(D3).
The DAZL! architecture feature independent ports capable of
driving separate LED strings. Each string is controlled by
independent circuitry that adjusts string current and PWM for
the desired color and intensity. In order to allow high
bandwidth of data two external SPI buses that can work
independently, or in parallel are used.
Current, output port voltage and temperature are monitored
separately for sophisticated control of each LED string. A
temperature sensor at each port automatically shuts down the
port in the event of excessive thermal stress.
What DAZL! brings
Advanced Backlight features - The advanced features of the
DAZL! family enables it to support scanning backlight (D1),
zone dimming (D2) and zone dimming with color control per zone
(D3). Multiple bus interfaces offer higher bandwidth and the
ability to control hundreds of LED strings with a single
system controller.
